Hello everyone! (check out this adorable journal skin~ thank you xBeautifulDreamerx) I've decided to host a contest!

Media Mare is my main pony OC, not quite a persona though I did give her some of my traits. However she doesn't really have a best friend and that's a cryin' shame!

1. Must be a new character - no premade adopts or old oc's!
2. Any Gender & Species (Canon or not) but must be Media's age!
3. Your Entry MUST be a REFERENCE SHEET that includes:

Both Sides (preferably not just a flipped image)
Clear front View of the Eyes
Large Cutie Mark (if the species has it) preferably off to the side

4. Once a Ref Sheet has been made, you can enter another entry for "Best Scene" Which would include Media and the OC you designed.
5. If you draw in traditional medias the entry must be nicely scanned in.
6. If you don't follow all the rules, your entry will not be counted.
7. There needs to be at least 15 qualified entries for 1st place prize to be awarded - if that is going to bother you, please refrain from entering.
8. You may enter more than once, but only one prize per entry.
9. I reserve the right to add/change rules as needed.
10. When submitting your entry, please also make a journal to spread the word, and link both in the comments below!
11. Contest will end on June 19th, 2015 - Plenty of time!
12. Contest will be extended if there isn't enough entries.
13. Bases may be used if proper credit is given to the creator and they allow contest entries on their base.
14. No Pony Generators
15. I'm judging on design, not so much artistic talent, so well thought out designs that are clear will probably have a good chance at winning.
16. The character(s) will become mine, and I will probably make changes to the character(s) as I see fit.

Now for what I'm looking for in the character:

An Intelligent personality
A fairly simple design (doesn't have to be plain but nothing crazy)
Someone who matches well with Media
You can add accessories (Please do! I love glasses!)
You don't have to have a Name or Talent (but he/she does have to have a CM)
PLEASE DO NOT USE MULTIPLE SATURATED COLORS - after awhile it hurts my eyes ^^"

Hobbies: Reading, Sketching and Sewing
Talent: Creative use of Art Medias
CM: A heart shaped painters pallet, featuring stars in the CMYK colors, with a pencil, tablet pen and paint brush going through it.
Fav Snacks: Choco chip cookies
Somepony: Ace Gear
Sister to: Sonata Belle (and two unnamed at this time)
Fav Color: Green (like her magic)
Personalty: Slightly aloof and clumsy. Usually very happy and smiling.

Small Backstory:

Media's parents are Kreative Kenny and Regina Rosethorn, a graphic designer and a florist. They met by chance and Kenny fell in love at first glance. Media takes a lot after her mom, with more creative sides from her father. Media was restless as a filly and always getting into trouble one way or another and more so as night came along. Kenny would mumble that there was a little bit of Nightmare Moon in her, which is why she was so wild at night. To calm her down, Regina would sing a lullaby and Media always responded quickly, Sonata would also come along and hum the melody to her mother's words.

Regina was soon diagnosed with cancer shortly after Media's birth and passed away from it. Leaving her family in grief, Media was lost, and acted out harshly to everyone. Sonata called Media out on her actions, telling her she wasn't the only one hurting, and while crying herself, sung their mothers lullaby (which is how Sonata got her CM btw) and Media finally started to heal.

Time had passed and Sonata was interested in finding a somepony, while Media was more interested in finding her CM. Sonata introduced, Ace Gear, as her current love interest one day while Media was sketching. Media looked up at them, accidentally snapped her pencil when her eyes met his; falling in love on the spot as blush shot all over her face. She stood by quietly for years, as the one she loved dated her sister, trying her hardest not to wish them to break up.

However, over time Sonata and Ace grew apart and Media, seeing Ace's depression, stuck to him to cheer him up. She knew full well, what damage a broken heart can do to someone. And after a while Ace, asked Media to be his somepony and she happily agreed. Although awkward for the three to hang around together, they are all friends.
